HELLO – The Directorate of Economic and Special Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has scheduled an examination of expert witnesses in the investigation of alleged investment fraud under the guise of the Binomo binary options trading application, Wednesday.
“On Monday 21 Februari 2022 and Tuesday 22 Februari 2022 we will examine witnesses; On Wednesday we will examine the expert witness,” stated the Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtipideksus), Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan in Jakarta, Wednesday 23 Februari 2022.
A number of expert witnesses who were questioned were experts related to ITE, CoFTRA, and the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI).
Dirtipideksus explained that investigators had raised the status of the suspected Binomo fraud case from inquiry to the investigation stage on Friday 18 Februari 2022. Furthermore, investigators conducted a re-examination of the victims.
“Friday, the case has been announced, advancing the case from inquiry to an investigation.”
“We issued an investigation warrant. Monday we sent an invitation to the victims to be examined as witnesses,” he said. ***
